FINALS UPDATE

ENTRIES OPEN: Monday, September 25

The Board of directors have been hard at work to bring together the final details for the ICA/Les Schwab Championship Finals to be held October 6-7 at the Idaho Center Horse Park.  There will be 15 in each  standard event and 4 contestants in each Novice event.  If someone in the top 15 does not enter the finals, we will drop down the list and pick up the next person who enters.  Therefore, if you are in the standings and want to enter the Finals you must call and enter.

Rough stock lists are being sent to the contestants so they can be prepared to vote for the stock in their event when they call to enter the Finals.  Novice contestants will vote for the contractor they want for their event. The board has chosen Geri Striker and Gloria Hogg to be timers; Casey Bequeath, Bob Hogg and Ty Joslin will be the judges and Lonnie Hatch is the announcer.  Bull fighters and pickup men will be voted on by the rough stock contestants at entry time.

Exhibitor booth space is still available for vendors at the Finals.  We are excited about the number of vendors who have expressed an interest and plan to attend.

ANNUAL CONVENTION AT THE FINALS

The annual convention for rule changes and election of directors and officers will be held Saturday, October 7, at the Idaho Center Horse Park arena. The general membership meeting will begin at 1:00 at the arena.  Contestants are expected to attend. All rule proposals are published in the Sept 1 issue of HorseSports and on the web site.

POST RODEO HOSPITALITY

This year following each performance of the LES SCHWAB CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS a post rodeo party will be held in the Idaho Equine facility next door to the arena.  On Friday, here will be a no-host bar with music and dancing until midnight.  There will be a $5.00 cover charge on Friday night. Saturday night following the rodeo the post rodeo function will include the Crisis Fund Auction and Presentation of the 2006 ICA Championship Year end Awards.  The Board of Directors are excited about the changes in this year’s Finals and the implementation of the Post Rodeo hospitality area..  Plan to attend each night and visit with your rodeo friends and the great sponsors of the ICA.
